Hence, we use social media to build relationships on social media - and RELATIONSHIPS SELL!
Then, how do we get sales from social media without being on the platform 24/7?
Well, you need a social media strategy and an email list, my friend!
I know, you've heard it before...
But, YES, the best way to own your audience and turn them into sales is STILL by building an email list & using it to nurture more sales!
According to Hubspot in 2022, email marketing had an average return of $42 for every $1 spent on email marketing!
I don't know about you, but I'd trade $1 for $42 ALL DAY LONG!
Email lists also allow us to stop relying on social media & other platforms that can change their algorithms at any time. Owning your customer base allows you to communicate with them directly and keep them engaged in a one-on-one relationship.
And like I said, RELATIONSHIPS generate SALES!
Plus, email gives you the opportunity to sell more products and services without always relying on those pesky ads!
This is the simple social media sales strategy example I used to build an email list from scratch and generate 6 figures in just over a year!
Step 1: The Introductory "Hello" Offer
First, create or design a freebie or low-cost product/service you can give as an introductory offer your audience right now. It could be a free consultation, a sample of a product, an ebook, a worksheet, a video tutorial, or even a paid webinar. Whatever you decide on, make sure it’s high quality and provides real value to your audience.
(To prevent overwhelm, start with ONE offer. As you learn more about what your audience struggles with, you can create more and test them out!)
If people see you as "helpful" and that you can offer "solutions" to their struggles, this will build trust with them having YOU as the expert!

Step 2: Make Your Offers Visible Everywhere
Second, place your email opt-in form for your offer on each page of your website - one offer per page. Make sure what you're offering on the website page is relevant to the content topics featured there.
For instance, you wouldn't necessarily want to offer a free sample of a skin care product on a page that features tips on exercising. (I mean you can, but it won't be as effective & targeted!)
You'll also want to post the link to your introductory offer on your social media bio/photo cover wherever you can. Make it easy to find!
Drive traffic to your links by using the content in your social media posts, videos and reels!
Step 3: Automate Email Sales
Third, send an automated sequence of 3-4 follow-up emails directly related to the offer your list member requested. You'll want to make sure they consume the introductory offer with encouraging emails letting them know the benefits of doing so (since the offer they requested is SO good & helpful, right?)
Then, you want to introduce them to other offers that are related to the offer they originally opted in for. Remember, your list has already shown "trust" with you by giving you their email - and perhaps a little cash. It's much easier for someone to spend more once they've already invested with you.

In order for these strategies to work though, be sure that the content is engaging enough - otherwise why would anyone bother reading it?
So always put yourself in the shoes of the reader before publishing anything online because nobody wants boring newsletters clogging up their inbox!
The best way to keep your email list engaged is by providing fresh, new and valuable content on a regular basis. This could be in the form of blog posts, videos, images or even podcasts.
